Habitat Enhancement Program

Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

Jemma Scoble Consulting has led Indigenous consultation for Port of Vancouver’s Habitat Enhancement Program since its inception in 2011.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Development and implementation of consultation & engagement plans for all program projects (including 4 BC EAO exemptions)
  • Coordinating Indigenous involvement and integrating Indigenous input and knowledge in the design and delivery of projects
  • Developing and facilitating project workshops, including tidal marsh construction, invasive plants and eelgrass transplantation
  • Supporting permitting processes such as the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s Project and Environmental Review, Fisheries Act Authorization and the BC Environmental Assessment Office project exemption process.
  • Planning and implementing training initiatives, and
  • Identifying and coordinating Indigenous procurement opportunities.
  • Collaborative planning with Indigenous groups on cultural recognition components
